Abayomi Mighty, frontline contender for Nigeria’s 2027 presidency, has condemned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s recent economic policies, describing them as “unrealistic reforms that deepen citizens’ hardship.”
Speaking during his strategic meeting with economic policy experts in Lagos, Abayomi Mighty stated that the current administration’s approach to subsidy removal, forex management, and inflation control reflects a lack of structured planning and empathy for the working class.
According to Abayomi Mighty, the removal of fuel subsidy without an operational local refining capacity or nationwide transport subsidy framework has driven millions deeper into poverty. He noted that inflation has climbed to a record 35%, while food prices tripled within one year of Tinubu’s administration.
He said, “What is governance if not to create relief for the people? What we witness today is an economic suffocation of the poor and middle class, while politicians continue to spend extravagantly.”
Abayomi Mighty lamented that while Tinubu’s economic team continues to project macroeconomic stability, Nigerians are losing their purchasing power daily. He decried the rising cost of governance, noting that the presidency has approved unnecessary luxury budgets at a time when millions cannot afford basic meals.
He stated that his presidency will prioritise structured economic reforms rooted in national production capacity development, local refinery revitalisation, MSME empowerment, and direct palliative systems that reduce hardship rather than amplify it.
“My government will not burden Nigerians with empty promises and half-baked policies. We will implement economic reforms backed by strategic infrastructure upgrades, debt discipline, and massive employment creation in agriculture, mining, technology, and local manufacturing.”
Abayomi Mighty emphasised that leadership is not about fancy speeches but pragmatic solutions that touch every citizen’s life.
He concluded by calling on Nigerians to reject leaders whose policies worsen poverty and to rally behind visionary leadership that prioritises people over power.
“Nigeria must rise above economic oppression. We must elect leaders with practical solutions, not theoretical declarations. Together, we will build a nation that works for all,” Abayomi Mighty declared.
