A human rights activist Chief Niyi Aborisade has declared intention to contest for Oyo governorship poll in in 2027.
Aborisade, a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), claimed his ambition is to move the state forward and make it one of the best in the world.
Speaking with journalists in Ibadan, Aborisade boasted he has what it take to move Oyo State forward if elected.
He claimed he has better chances to emerge as Governor considering his structures across the 33 local government of the state.
According to him: “I’ve been in different places in the world and I’ve seeing how they are running their government. Oyo state shouldn’t lack some certain things.
“I’ve been a human right activist for more than 30 years, and I’ve been clamouring for good governance, now, it time for me to bring the good governance to the people of Oyo State.
“I’m going to change things positive, this is the time for positive change for the good people of Oyo State.
“I’m going to emerge, I’m the only candidate that has structures across the 33 local government of Oyo state, no one has done what I have done. I won’t be a social media governor because I have physical structures across the Oyo State. I have better chance out of all the aspirants.”
While asked if he has the backing of Governor Seyi Makinde, Aborisade said the Governor will announce him as the flag bearer of the party in due time, adding he is better qualified than most of the aspirants.
He said: “I have the financial muscle to contest with anybody, I have the quality and financial backing, I will be next governor of Oyo state come 2027, people of the state should wait for good and better governance, they should wait for positive change.”
