Abayomi Rotimi Mighty, Presidential Aspirant for 2027 Elections

As Nigeria approaches the pivotal 2027 general elections, the political landscape is witnessing the emergence of visionary leaders seeking to redefine governance. Among them is Abayomi Mighty, a respected politician, civic advocate, veteran youth leader and frontline presidential contender known for his integrity, strategic thinking, and unwavering commitment to the people.

In this exclusive interview with NBTLive, Abayomi Mighty shares his leadership philosophy, policy priorities, and vision for a new Nigeria rooted in sacrificial service, national unity, and economic transformation.

Interviewer: Thank you for joining us today, Mr. Abayomi Mighty. Many Nigerians see you as a rising force in the political space. What drives your presidential ambition?

Abayomi Mighty: Thank you for having me. For me, leadership is not about personal ambition or acquiring titles. It is about fulfilling a divine and moral mandate to serve humanity. My presidential ambition is driven by a deep burden to rescue Nigeria from the systemic failures that have impoverished our people and robbed them of dignity, hope, and opportunity.

I have travelled to every geopolitical zone in Nigeria and seen firsthand how citizens live without clean water, quality education, security, or economic opportunities. I have seen how avoidable diseases kill mothers and children daily. I believe leadership exists to solve such problems, not to compound them. My ambition is anchored on a vision to build a nation that works for every Nigerian, not just a privileged few.

Interviewer: You often speak about sacrificial leadership. Can you elaborate on what that means in practical governance terms?

Abayomi Mighty: Sacrificial leadership is the foundation of transformational governance. Practically, it means putting the welfare of citizens before personal or political comfort. It means cutting down the bloated cost of governance – for example, reducing the number of political appointees, limiting unnecessary foreign travels, and eliminating wasteful security votes.

Sacrificial leadership also means prioritising strategic national investments over political popularity. Sometimes, the decisions that will transform a nation are not the easiest to make, but a leader must act in the nation’s long-term interest, not for short-term applause.

If elected president, I will ensure that every kobo of Nigeria’s resources is spent judiciously for public good. We will redirect funds from political luxuries to education, healthcare, security, and economic development programmes that create jobs and improve quality of life.

Interviewer: What are the top three sectors you will prioritise immediately upon assuming office?

Abayomi Mighty: First is security. Without security, no sector can thrive. Nigeria is currently under siege from bandits, terrorists, kidnappers, and armed robbers. My administration will restructure our security architecture, deploy technology for intelligence gathering, and reform policing to ensure safety across all communities.

Second is education. Education is the bedrock of national development. We will increase budgetary allocation to education to meet and exceed UNESCO standards. We will modernise curricula to include critical thinking, digital skills, and entrepreneurship while upgrading infrastructure, teacher training, and welfare packages to restore dignity to the teaching profession.

Third is economic empowerment. Nigeria must become a producing nation, not just a consuming one. We will prioritise agriculture value chains, local manufacturing, mining, and technology to create millions of decent jobs, reduce poverty, and grow the national GDP sustainably.

Interviewer: Many Nigerians feel past governments have failed to tackle corruption effectively. How will your administration be different?

Abayomi Mighty: Corruption is a cancer that has eaten deep into Nigeria’s governance systems. My administration will take a multi-dimensional approach. First, we will lead by example. As president, I will publicly declare my assets and ensure all cabinet members do the same. We will strengthen institutions like EFCC and ICPC to operate independently without political interference.

Second, we will digitise all government transactions to eliminate leakages. For example, procurement processes, budgeting, and payroll systems will be fully automated and publicly accessible for transparency. Third, we will promote a national reorientation campaign that changes mindsets, instilling values of integrity, patriotism, and accountability from the grassroots to the elite class.

Ultimately, corruption ends when leaders have the moral courage to uphold truth regardless of whose ox is gored. I am prepared to take that stand for Nigeria.

Interviewer: Your critics say your vision is too idealistic to survive the practical realities of Nigeria’s political system. What is your response to this?

Abayomi Mighty: That narrative is part of the problem. We have normalised mediocrity to the extent that excellence appears unrealistic. Every progressive nation was once trapped in backwardness until visionary leaders disrupted the status quo.

When Singapore emerged from poverty, many thought their reforms were too ambitious. Today, they are an example of what visionary leadership can achieve. Nigeria is no different. We have everything it takes – human capital, natural resources, cultural richness. What we lack is leadership with integrity, competence, and courage. My administration will prove that idealism backed by strategic thinking and decisive action produces transformational results.

Interviewer: What is your approach to youth empowerment, knowing they are the majority of Nigeria’s population?

Abayomi Mighty: The youth are Nigeria’s greatest asset, yet they remain the most neglected demographic. My administration will prioritise youth empowerment by:

  • Reforming education to equip youths with employable and entrepreneurial skills
  • Establishing Youth Business Development Funds to support start-ups and small enterprises
  • Expanding the digital economy with policies that empower young tech innovators
  • Creating a national internship and apprenticeship framework to bridge the school-to-work gap
  • Ensuring youth representation in governance, because policies are most effective when those affected have a seat at the table

When the energy, innovation, and resilience of Nigerian youth are harnessed, there is no limit to what our nation can achieve.

Interviewer: Many Nigerians struggle daily with healthcare challenges. What is your vision for healthcare reform?

Abayomi Mighty: Healthcare is a fundamental human right, not a privilege for the rich. Under my presidency, we will:

  • Operationalise Universal Health Coverage through full implementation of the National Health Insurance Authority Act
  • Upgrade all primary, secondary, and tertiary health facilities with modern equipment and sufficient medical personnel
  • Incentivise local pharmaceutical production to reduce medicine costs
  • Implement rural health outreach programmes, especially for maternal and child health
  • Introduce a Healthcare Workforce Renaissance Plan to train and retain doctors, nurses, midwives, and allied professionals with competitive salaries

A healthy nation is a productive nation. No Nigerian should die because they are poor.

Interviewer: Finally, what is your message to Nigerians as 2027 approaches?

Abayomi Mighty: My message is simple: Nigeria is not destined to fail. We have everything it takes to become a great nation if we choose the right leadership. Let us rise above tribal sentiments, religious divisions, and temporary inducements. Let us elect leaders with competence, vision, integrity, and a genuine heart for the people.

“Together, we can build a Nigeria where no citizen is too poor to live and no dream is too big to achieve. It is time for sacrificial leadership that puts people first. I am ready to serve with every breath within me for the greatness of our nation.”

Interviewer: Thank you, Mr. Abayomi-Mighty, for sharing your vision with us today. We wish you the best in your presidential journey.

Abayomi Mighty: Thank you. May God bless you, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
