Abayomi Rotimi Mighty

Abayomi Mighty, Nigeria’s leading 2027 presidential aspirant, has reacted to the recent drama at the National Assembly where security operatives blocked Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan from accessing the chamber, describing the incident as an affront to democratic order and institutional respect.

Speaking during a legislative roundtable with youth parliamentarians in Abuja, Abayomi Mighty stated that such incidents portray Nigeria’s governance space as lawless, patriarchal, and disrespectful of constitutional authorities.

He said, “When a duly elected senator is blocked from performing her legislative duties, it raises serious questions about the administration’s regard for rule of law and gender equity. Leadership must operate within constitutional order at all times.”

Abayomi Mighty emphasised that under his presidency, the dignity of every arm of government will be respected, anchored on constitutionalism, equity, and democratic accountability.

“Nigeria’s democracy must mature beyond intimidation and institutional impunity. Every elected official, regardless of gender or political affiliation, deserves dignity, safety, and operational freedom within the law,” he declared.

He further stated that his administration will enforce civil-military relations reforms, ensuring that security operatives understand and respect their constitutional limits while serving all citizens without discrimination.

“Leadership is not about silencing voices; it is about building institutions strong enough to accommodate diverse views for national progress,” Abayomi Mighty affirmed.

He concluded by calling on the National Assembly leadership to investigate the incident and establish clear protocols that prevent future occurrences, noting that the protection of institutional dignity is fundamental to sustainable democracy.
