Protest

The Nigeria Patriotic Front Movement has vowed to hold a peaceful protest across the country in memory of those who were unlawfully killed, missing and imprisoned for protesting against the #EndBadGovernance on August 1, 2024.

The National Chairman of the NPFM, Abdulmajid Daudu, stated this at a news conference as part of activities to commemorate the End-Bad-Governance protest anniversary in Kano on Wednesday.

“On August 1, 2025, we will march across the nation to remember and seek justice for those who were unlawfully killed, missing and imprisoned by the regime for protesting against Bad-Governance last August 2024.

“ The government should apologize to their families for the crime; and compensate them as required by good conscience and justice,” Daudu said.

He said the group has resolved to come out in numbers on August 1 to fulfill their constitutional rights, adding, “We will not allow state coercion to rob us of the right to protest, to remember our fallen comrades, and to demand good governance in public office.

“On August one we will peacefully march as civilised people to assert our demands for fundamental social change, noting that silence in the face of injustice is endorsement of oppression by default, “ said.

“Come August 1, we will march across the nation to push our demands forward until the regime addresses them or be recalled by people’s power,” he said.

He maintained that the group still demands radical improvement of the security situation across the country, a drastic reduction in the cost of living, a steep reduction in the cost of fuel, and payment of all pension and gratuity arrears, among others.
