Abayomi Rotimi Mighty, 2027 Elections Presidential Aspirant

Renowned social reformer and political voice, Abayomi Mighty, has called out the federal government over the worsening economic realities across the country, describing the silence from leadership as “both dangerous and disheartening.”

In a statement released exclusively to NBTLive News on Wednesday, Abayomi Mighty lamented the state of the nation, citing the unbearable cost of living, rising insecurity, and the deepening despair among citizens.

“We are watching mothers skip meals, fathers lose dignity, and youths lose hope,” the statement read. “This is not a natural disaster; this is a leadership failure. Nigeria is not poor — she is plundered.”

His remarks come on the heels of recent inflation figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics, indicating that food prices have surged by over 45% in the last year. With fuel prices inching above ₦1,000 per litre in some states, many Nigerians are grappling with a cost-of-living crisis unseen since the structural adjustment era.

Abayomi Mighty emphasized that the Nigerian youth must move beyond passive frustration and embrace organized civic participation, especially as the 2027 elections approach.

“2027 will not just be an election. It must be a national turning point — a rejection of recycled leadership and a bold embrace of visionary governance,” he said.

In a thinly veiled critique of the current administration, the statement questioned the federal government’s development priorities and urged for a transparent recovery blueprint that is inclusive and practical.

“Things don’t change with slogans. They change with strategy, sacrifice, and sincerity,” he noted.

A Clarion Call to Citizens

Abayomi Mighty also used the opportunity to encourage Nigerians not to resign to fate. Instead, he called for renewed faith in nationhood, underpinned by civic responsibility and political awakening.

“This generation cannot afford to hand over a broken nation to the next. We must act, speak, vote, build, and insist — not later, but now,” he concluded.

The statement has since gained traction across social media platforms, with many Nigerians resonating with his tone and message.

Background
