Conference Hotels and Suites, Sagamu, Ijebu Ode

2027 presidential hopeful Abayomi Mighty has condemned what he describes as a politically motivated campaign by the Ogun State Government under Governor Dapo Abiodun to demolish properties linked to former governor and serving senator, Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

The latest targets, according to reports, include the Asoludero Court private residence, the Conference Hotels Limited, Sagamu, and its annex — all privately owned investments with full legal documentation. The Asoludero Court was completed in 2004, the Conference Hotel, Sagamu in 2013, and the hotel annex in 2015.

This comes barely a year after the Abiodun administration demolished Datkem Plaza in Ijebu Ode — a commercial property owned by Yeye Olufunke Daniel, wife of the former governor. That demolition, which drew national outrage, was also widely seen as politically motivated.

“This is Not Governance; This is Vendetta”

Speaking exclusively to NBTLive, Abayomi Mighty described the demolition threats and past actions as “a dangerous misuse of state power to settle political scores.”

“These properties are not shanties or illegal structures. They are documented, legally compliant investments that have boosted Ogun State’s economy for decades. When governance becomes a bulldozer aimed at political opponents, the people are the real losers,” he said.

Economic Sabotage in a Time of Hardship

Mighty stressed that the Asoludero Court and Conference Hotels are major employers of labour, attracting tourism, hosting events, and contributing to Ogun’s internally generated revenue.

“This administration seems more interested in pulling down what others have built than in building for the people. At a time when Nigerians are struggling to survive, destroying sources of jobs and commerce is an act of economic sabotage,” Mighty charged.

Rule of Law and Investor Confidence

The presidential hopeful noted that Otunba Gbenga Daniel has all the necessary documents proving ownership and compliance with planning laws. He warned that demolitions in spite of legal protections send a chilling signal to both local and foreign investors.

“If a former governor and senator with complete legal documentation is not safe from arbitrary government action, imagine what happens to the ordinary citizen,” he said.

A Call for Leadership with Vision

Abayomi Mighty vowed that if elected president in 2027, his government will protect lawful private investments, uphold the rule of law, and prioritize governance that creates rather than destroys.

“Nigeria cannot afford leaders who wield power as a weapon. In 2027, we will turn the politics of demolition into the politics of development,” he concluded.
