Abayomi Mighty, leading 2027 presidential hopeful, has called on Nigerians to redefine politics as a tool for service rather than an arena for personal ambition and power struggles.
Speaking during a civic engagement forum in Port Harcourt, Abayomi Mighty described Nigeria’s current political terrain as “an enterprise driven by self-preservation rather than national preservation.” He lamented that decades of leadership have prioritised party supremacy and personal enrichment over purposeful policies to lift millions out of poverty.
He stated, “Politics was never designed to be a battlefield for the elite. Its original purpose is the distribution of resources, opportunities, and justice to citizens.”
Abayomi Mighty criticised the prevailing transactional politics, where electoral promises are mere ladders to power, abandoned immediately after swearing-in. He noted that many politicians build their relevance on orchestrated divisions of ethnicity, religion, and region, creating fragmented national identity for political capital.
He said, “If politics remains a weapon of division, Nigeria’s unity will remain a myth. We must redefine it as a covenant of national service that binds us as one people with a common destiny.”
Abayomi Mighty concluded by urging Nigerians to elect leaders who see politics not as a game of thrones but as a divine mandate to transform society.
“A nation rises or falls by the quality of its politics. Nigeria must rise with politics driven by vision, truth, and unbreakable dedication to national development,” he declare.
