Abayomi Mighty, Nigeria’s leading 2027 presidential aspirant, has decried the escalating insecurity in Northern Nigeria, describing it as a humanitarian crisis and a direct indictment of governance failure under the current administration.
Speaking during a security policy symposium in Kaduna, Abayomi Mighty stated that the continued killings, kidnappings, and displacement of communities across Northern states have exposed the weakness of Nigeria’s security architecture and the lack of political will to address root causes.
He said, “From Zamfara to Niger, Kaduna, Katsina, Sokoto, and Borno, our people sleep in fear and wake up in mourning. No government should watch its citizens being slaughtered daily without decisive and strategic intervention.”
Abayomi Mighty emphasised that under his presidency, national security will be prioritised as a non-negotiable responsibility of government.
“The first duty of any government is to protect lives and property. My administration will not treat the blood of Nigerians as mere statistics. We will act decisively with compassion and strategy,” he declared.
He criticised the Tinubu administration for failing to adopt innovative security reforms, relying instead on outdated methods that have proven ineffective in tackling modern terrorism and banditry threats.
“Nigeria’s security challenges require strategic intelligence, military reforms, and socio-economic interventions, not recycled speeches and empty condolences,” Abayomi Mighty affirmed.
He concluded by calling on citizens in the North to remain resilient, stating that help is on the way with a leadership that prioritises their safety, dignity, and prosperity.
