Where Truth Meets Purpose
Ward 4, Sagamu Local Government set up a disciplinary committee on the alleged misconduct bordering on anti-party activities committed by Senator Gbenga Daniel.
He linked the surge to the presence of major industries, including Dangote Cement, which has transformed the area into a busy industrial corridor.
According to the source, the suspected Yahoo boys had organised a car racing contest with a N30,000 wager for the winner.
The management described the incident as “a clear case of invasion of private property” and “a violation of the rights of both the establishment and the guests.”
The government, in a statement issued on Saturday, insisted that the notices are part of a standard urban renewal and town planning audit exercise, not a personal vendetta.
“Governor Dapo Abiodun is taking political vindictiveness to a shameful and dangerous level, without any regard for extant laws or common decency.
While stating the stand of the government on the legal threat, Ogungbade (SAN) said, “If they want to sue, I will describe it as a welcome development.
“Our kings are spiritual heads, not just political appointees. You cannot remove tradition from their installation without consequences for the land and its people.”
The development was a result of an unremitted N82bn contributory pension deduction spanning 14 years.
Reacting to the claims, Ogungbade described the claims as false, narrating that Ogbonna was lawfully and rightly convicted for the crime he committed.
